About This Event
Explore how local AI can be used for work and business when the information involved is confidential. In this hands-on Sydney workshop, you’ll compare local and cloud AI tools, then install a local AI app and run a model on your own laptop.
What you’ll cover
- How local AI differs from cloud tools such as ChatGPT
- Where local AI is useful, and its limitations
- Practical business applications and a live demonstration
- Options for taking private AI beyond an individual laptop, including team knowledge bases and additional security considerations
Hands-on requirements
Bring your own laptop and charger. No coding experience is required.
- Mac: Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) running macOS 14 or later; Intel Macs are not supported
- Windows: 64-bit; 16GB RAM is recommended, though 8GB can run smaller models
- At least 20GB of free storage
Setup instructions will be emailed before the workshop.
Capacity and refunds
Places are limited to 20 participants for an interactive, hands-on format. Refunds are available up to 1 day before the event.
