Demo Day

Demo Day is a chance to see student-led technology projects, swap ideas and meet others building or exploring new tech. The programme centres on project showcases, with time afterwards for conversations and feedback in a relaxed setting at Lyra in Millers Point.

Attend

• Attendance is free, but venue capacity is limited.
• The first 35 registrations will receive a confirmation attendee ticket.
• Registrations received after capacity is reached will be waitlisted.
• If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket so the place can be offered to someone else.

Apply to present

Builders with a project to showcase can apply via the Demo Application. Presentation slots are limited, and the organising team will review submissions and select projects.

Projects related to software, AI, data science, cybersecurity, robotics, embedded systems, engineering and other technology-focused work are particularly sought. Prototypes, personal and research projects, hackathon work, and works in progress are welcome; projects do not need to be polished.

• Applications close by 24 October.
• Selection results will be emailed by 26 October.

How presentations are assessed

Selected presenters will be evaluated on:

• technical difficulty and problem-solving
• functionality, with live demonstrations preferred
• clarity of explanation
• originality

A prize may be available for presenters.
