About This Event
AI is reshaping how culture is created, shared, protected and valued. This public panel in Kensington considers how artists and the cultural sector can help shape that future beyond technology companies alone.
Hosted by UNSW Founders in collaboration with CAIRN and the UNSW Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture, the discussion will examine the role of non-commercial organisations, services, platforms and infrastructure in supporting the public good across creative industries.
What the panel will explore
- How AI is changing creative practice and cultural value
- The influence of public broadcasters, libraries, museums, universities, copyright agencies and arts organisations
- Approaches to consent, control and compensation in creative AI
- Alternatives to commercial models for culture and music
Panelists
- Oliver Bown, Professor at UNSW Art & Design
- Caroline Pegram, Co-CEO of Koup Music
- Joe Hardy, Co-founder of SydneyMusic.net
- Tanja Dreher, Deputy Head of School (Research) at UNSW School of Arts & Media and Co-Director of UNSW Media Futures Hub
